Hi, and welcome to A Little Country Living. My name is Callie and I am a country girl at heart. I don’t mean country music country; I mean cattle ranch born and bred, animal lovin’, garden growin’, chicken wranglin’, cooking from scratch, wide open spaces kind of country. I was born and raised in the heart of the prairie in South Dakota and will forever think of it as my home. My husband and I lived in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for over 11 years where I found myself constantly reaching back to my roots for inspiration to live a modern city dwelling lifestyle a more “old-school” or traditional way. We were blessed with the ability to move back to our home state of South Dakota in 2014 to a small acreage in the country, so we can live near some of our much loved family members. My days are spent as a stay at home wife and homeschooling momma to my hardworking honey and our three rambunctious children, an eight year old boy and identical twin six year old girls.
I am a “real” food lover with a passion for incorporating simple healthy living into my home, life, and family. This blog documents my journey as I learn more about traditional health, food, and a non toxic lifestyle. Plus it allows me share with you all that I have learned with a little bit of my quirky pizazz thrown in for fun. I love to spend my time gardening, cooking, reading, and teaching my kids the finer things in life. I hope you enjoy your time doing a little country living with me. Come back often and bring your friends!
